Deutz Marlborough Cuvée
29th December 2014
“Our vines are in Marlborough, but our roots are in France”
Deutz Marlborough Cuvee marries the best New Zealand grapes with traditional French Champagne-making techniques establishing a benchmark for New Zealand wine excellence.
In 1838, William Deutz and Pierre-Jubert Geldermann established Champagne Deutz on the slopes of the famous Aÿ vineyards.
In 1973 Monatana New Zealand began to develop its Marlborough vineyards, growing Chardonnay and Pinot grapes in a cool climate remarkably similar to the conditions found in Champagne.
Today, multi-award-winning Deutz Marlborough Cuvée is considered one of the premier méthode traditionelle wines in the world – and remains the only one in New Zealand to which a French Champagne house has lent its name.
