Blackdown Ridge – Primordia 2014 – Bronze Summer Days
24th January 2018
Congratulations to Blackdown Ridge with their Primordia 2014 which received a bronze medal at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly awards 2017.
A panel of 36 top industry wine judges tasted all the entries for 2017 and were able to not only scores wines with medals, but also place them in to easy to understand categories such as Summer Days: “Does not have to be a highly complicated wine. Will offer a light, fruity and easy going taste.”
This wine has wonderful aromas; lemon zest and fruity apricot notes with orchard fruit and hints of sweet pastry. On the palate is a really lively citrus quality – it’s more lemon sherbet than lemon zest, prompting a lovely tingling sensation. Richer fruity flavours continue on the mid taste – ripe apricot with juicy apple and pear. A fine mousse with those deliciously rounded fruit flavours make this a really enjoyable and smooth drinking sparkling wine, whilst that persistent sherbet lemon quality keeps it refreshing and light.
