Sparkling Strawberry Cream Tea Cocktail

Combining hot drinks and Sparkling Wine is not one many people would recommend, so what do you do if you want to have a fizzy tea? Well if you’ve ever wondered that, then G&Tea will be helpful in achieving that goal, they create Tea infused Gins, the one we have here is a Cream Tea, and we’re going to combine it with some Sparkling Wine and Strawberries to make a Fizzy Cream Tea Cocktail.

On January 10, 2020, a bottle of Martinčič was chosen by the 24th Wine Queen of Slovenia – Ana Pavlin, she comes from Dolenjska and was crowned in Radenci. Martinčič is ‘happy and proud that the new wine queen has chosen a wine from our cellar-Modra frankinjo’.

Flavour – “👅A sweet taste of sherberty yellow candy sweets and yellow fruits on the palate.”

The Cream Tea Gin

The story of G&Tea started out in October 2020 with a trio of Gin and Tea lovers, they use the finest leaf teas, herbs and fruits from around the world to ensure that their creation is one that people will fall in love with, they work with the masters at Colwith distillery in Cornwall to create their Gins by infusing their natural ingredients, they also take note of peoples honest feedback, because they know it is a crucial way of learning how to evolve and produce a Gin that people want.

They proudly state that their gins start out as a potato, that potato then leaves the farm and becomes a bottle of Gin, they use water from an underground aquifer and is powered by renewable energy.

One thing I will say is that you need to be a Tea lover to enjoy these gins because they do really capture the flavours very well indeed, to the fact I was pleasantly surprised at how much the flavour of the Tea shined through.

Cocktail

Ingredients

• Sparkling Wine
• Cream Tea Gin
• Strawberries

How To Make the Sparkling Strawberry Tea Cocktail

1. Pour in 10 mls of Cream Tea Gin
2. Top up with 100-150mls of Sparkling Wine
3. Add in a couple of chopped up Strawberries
4. Then place a Strawberry on the rim of the glass.
5. Enjoy!

Tasting Notes

Aroma – “Creamy freshly squashed strawberries on the aroma.”

Flavour – “Subtle touch of Gin, dry strawberry and juniper berries/herb characters initially, the fizz attacks you in the mid-length to the close.”
