It’s Great To Speak With You, Scott, Can You Tell Us A Little About Yourself & Your Journey Into The Wine Industry?

“My journey into the wine industry began by volunteering at an organic vineyard in the south of Portugal. Fresh out of an undergraduate degree in food science, I was looking for a way to work and travel the world. Wine can be a great way to do that.”

Do You Remember Your First Experience With Sparkling Wine? When It Was And What Kind Of Wine It Was?

“My first experiences with sparkling wine were simply something enjoyable at celebrations. It was probably during my time with Domaine Chandon in Napa that I realised quite how fun the sparkling wine category is. We were making method traditional sparkling from the three classic varieties.”

When It Comes To Pairing Sparkling Wine With Food, Do You Have Any Favourite Combinations That You Would Personally Recommend?

“My favourite food pairing with sparkling wine that I would personally recommend is breakfast. After that, it’s brunch, lunch, and then dinner.”

What Future Plans Can Enthusiasts Of Mereworth Wines Look Forward To In The Coming Years?

“While quality grape growing and winemaking is at the heart of what we do here at Mereworth, the team is made up of wine, food, music, cocktail, and coffee enthusiasts. 2024 at Mereworth will see our in-house food come on board and our speciality coffee offering a step up to the next level.”
