Champagne Drappier Pinot Gris
8th April 2016
Drappier Champagne house is set to release a new cuvée using the lesser-known Pinot Gris grape variety.
At the opposite extreme to their usual low dosage wines, this Champagne will be a rich, sweet demi-sec made from grapes grown in the Aube.
This new cuvée is based on the exceptional 2015 harvest and will be released in around 3 to 4 years time.
With the addition of Pinot Gris (also known as Fromenteau), Drappier’s range uses all the Champagne grape varieties including the most common: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and the more ‘forgotten’ ones: Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, Arbane and Pinot Gris.
