Two most delightful and stand out English Sparkling Wine entered the scene yesterday as the Driver family proudly launched their Blanc de Blancs and Rose at Somerset House in London.

Sarah Driver – Rathfinny Estate

Rathfinny Wine Estate – Blanc de Blancs 2014: “A wonderful delicate vanilla, apple blossom and sweet yellow apple nose. Touch dry on initial taste, plenty of English garden fruits and a great refreshing length.

Rathfinny Wine Estate – Rosé Brut: “Red current and red apple skin on the nose. Taste of red berries and raspberries.

Somerset House was the choice for the afternoon launch of the wines from Rathfinny with a wide selection of wine professionals and journalists attending to cover the event and of course taste the wines. Later in the evening, a party was arranged to enable people to dance the night away on the fine English Sparkling Wines from Rathfinny.

Rathfinny Estate is based in East Sussex and was founded in 2010 by husband and wife Mark and Sarah Driver.  The first vines were planted in 2012 and today Rathfinny comprises of 185 acres of predominantly Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier with a further 215 acres to be planted by 2021. The Blanc de Blancs and Rosé sparkling wines are due to be available to purchase from June 2018.
