How to make Champagne Sorbet at home!
4th August 2016
Champagne sorbet anyone? Yes I hear you say and most certainly you should not pass on the opportunity of trying some as it is simply divine!
The beauty of Champagne sorbet is that you can make it from home and yes it is a simple to action home recipe and the ingredients will mean you’ll just have to pop to the local grocery store who will have all you need so long as you have that bottle of bubbly to hand.
Patience is the name of the game here as your Champagne sorbet will need 24 hours in the freezer to prepare for serving, but the preparation is quite simple, here are some easy to follow steps along with the video above that we did to help you:
What you will need:
Bottle of Champagne (on this occasion we used a rosé Champagne)
1 x Grapefruit (we used a red grapefruit)
2 x lemons
1 x cup of water
1 x cup of granulated sugar
Now pour yourself a glass of bubbly as it pays to enjoy a sip or two whilst you prepare your Champagne sorbet.
Open the Champagne (you may have already opened it for that glass you are holding) and pour the content into a jug and leave for one/two hours.
Place in a saucepan the cup of water and the cup of sugar and mix on a medium gas until the sugar has completely dissolved, continue to heat on a low gas for five minutes simmering and then turn off and allow to cool down.
Cut in half the grapefruit and lemons.
Squeeze the grapefruit and lemons into a bowl and keep the pulp (just sieve out the pips). Get yourself a freezable container big enough to hold all the contents you have prepared and pour all of them in. Mix the content together and place in to the freezer.
After 2/3 hours or once you see the contents starting to freeze slightly, remove and stir once again. Replace back into the freezer for a further 24 hours (you need to be patient here)!
Remove the container and serve with a leaf of chocolate mint and impress your friends and family.
