Prosecco DOC Rosé Il Fresco Villa Sandi featured

The new Prosecco DOC rosè from Villa Sandi is joining the successful ‘Il Fresco’ line, which has come to represent crispy and fresh bubbles, a symbol of Italian lifestyle. Wine enthusiasts have been waiting for Prosecco Rosé for quite a while. Now the time has come for consumers and lovers of pinks bubbles to enjoy a Prosecco rosè, with the freshness and typical floral and fruity notes of Prosecco combined with the pink hue and red fruit and rose notes imparted by Pinot Noir.

Prosecco DOC rosé is produced exclusively from Glera and Pinot Noir blended in a specific percentage, as defined by the production rules (Glera minimum 85% and Pinot Noir from 10to 15%). Pinot Noir must be grown inside the Prosecco DOC area.

Prosecco DOC Rosé is a vintage wine, reported on the label, (with ‘Millesimato’, meaning ‘vintage’, printed on the label) with minimum 60 days on the lees (longer than for the regular Prosecco DOC).

All great appellations in the world have a rosé version”, says Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, who as a member of the board of Consorzio DOC Prosecco has been a supporter of Prosecco rosé since the creation of Prosecco DOC appellation back in 2009. “On the Prosecco DOC area, other grape varietals have been grown over the decades along with Glera. On our owned estates we have been growing Pinot Noir for a long time and we glad to have an opportunity to represent, the different characteristics of the grapes. For the production of our Prosecco DOC Rosé, we feel that it’s important to maintain the grape’s varietal character while also showing how it reflects the appellation’s unique terroir

Prosecco DOC rosé enables Villa Sandi, which has gained a reputation as a  Premium Prosecco producer, to further strengthen its deep bond with the territory and keep to its commitment as a steward of the values and uniqueness of the extraordinary Prosecco land.

IL FRESCO PROSECCO DOC ROSÉ MILLESIMATO 2019

The Prosecco Rosé presents itself revealing an elegant pink hue with copper highlights and a lively
and persistent perlage. Its aromatic freshness offers a bouquet of red fruits and floral scents in particular
notes of pomegranate and rose. On the palate, it is silky and full, with a very pleasant balance. It is excellent as an aperitif and an ideal companion of finger foods, linguine’s pasta, delicate cheeses and pastry desserts.
