Hot Chocolate Cocktails

Instead of the classic warm cup of hot cocoa, try this instead…

  • 20mls of Chocolate Rum
  • 125mls of Red (Lambrusco) Sparkling Wine from
  • A Dash of Gingerbread Syrup
  • Cocoa Powder Sprinkled on top as the Garnish

“A deep, rich dark chocolate with baked and dried red berries and fruits, with a delicate touch of Gingerbread on the aroma. The palate offers a smooth, silky and relaxing expression of dark red and black berries, dark chocolate, figs, and Gingerbread. Although chilled, it gifts a pleasing warmth to the palate, it’s welcoming and homely, relaxing you during the evening.” – Glass of Bubbly

Paltrinieri – Solco – Lambrusco

“When I finished my studies, my father asked me what I wanted to do in life. My answer was that I wanted to keep alive the tradition of the work that grandfather Achille had started in 1926 and that he and my mother had been managing for 40 years. In 1998, with my wife Barbara, I began to directly manage the winery, betting on the production of the first pure Sorbara. Since then, I have been tending and vinifying 17 hectares of vineyards in the historic area of Cristo di Sorbara, the thinnest extension of land between the Secchia and the Panaro, the two rivers that embrace the province of Modena.” – Alberto Paltrinieri

“Light toasty jams, brioche and pastries, red berries, and dark red berries. Touch of sweet red berries, blackberries, and mellowed notes.” – Glass of Bubbly

Food Pairing Suggestions: Tagliatelle with ragù, pumpkin tortelli, tigelle and cured meats, dry pastries, excellent with black cherry tart.

It’s a very versatile Lambrusco that pairs nicely with different cuisines and adds a wonderful array of characters to different cocktails, on top of just enjoying it by the glass.

Dessert
A wine that will likely be sweeter in taste and pairs well with desserts.
