Cottonworth English Sparkling Wine
Home to the Liddell family and their three vineyards spanning a carefully selected, 30 acres, Cottonworth is a relative newcomer to the rapidly expanding English Sparkling Wine market. Located in the heart of the undulating Test Valley, the chalk-rich soil and temperate microclimate help to produce grapes of exceptional quality. The first vines were planted on the fringes of a chalk quarry where cows had grazed for generations. It soon became apparent that the three classic varieties suited the soil type perfectly, so 10 years later the planting has slowed down, but the fun has just started! They produce a Classic Cuvée and Sparkling Rosé with a Blanc de Blancs is in the pipeline. The Classic Cuvée is soft with apple and almond aromas balanced out with a hint of brioche. The rosé is all about red fruits and quince with a refreshing acidity. www.cottonworth.co.uk
